I just need to know how to change my shutter speed with my Nikon D40. Help please! : )|||I strongly suggest you read your owners manual. Nikon calls it a command dial.(I have a D60) It%26#039;s on the right side and your thumb should rest right on it as you hold the camera. When you are in Shutter priority or manual mode that is where you change your shutter speed. Moving right will increase the shutter speed moving it left will decrease.
