How do you change the shutter speed for Sony cybershot DSC-W80?

I have read JBT's post but i dont get it.. the shutter speed option doesnt not show up. can someone tell me how to change shutter speed in steps and what options need to be changed? I am currently using the original settings.

JBT's Post:

The manual is available online here:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCW80

According to page 21 and 15, you can't adjust the shutter speed unless the camera is first set in the right mode. Make sure the mode dial is NOT set on the camera icon; it should be set on the P (or Program mode).

Once the camera is in the Program mode, you can press the Menu button and scroll through the available items. Shutter speed is one of these. Remember, the shutter speed option will not show up if the camera is in the Auto Adjustment mode (represented by the little camera icon.)

I'm sorry but the the DSC-W80 is a 100% point-and-shoot camera, with no manual controls. Which means you CANNOT select your own shutter speed and/or aperture.

Your camera has no aperture or shutter speed priority option, so you cannot manually change the shutter speed. You will need an adjustable camera like the 400D or D200 to do that. Sorry
