How do I change the shutter speed?
Did you get an owners manual?

There is a wheel on the right side of the camera in the back that when turned will either change the aperture or shutter speed depending upon that mode you have your camera in. You will have to learn how to toggle the the function of that wheel.

I have the 450D which is very similar. To learn how to use your camera, you really need to open up and READ your Instruction Manual for any queries that you have.

To select the shutter speed you need to use the Tv (shutter priority) setting. You will find the correct page if you look up Tv in the Index.

One hint though...turn to the section 'More Advanced Techniques', starting on page 69, which shows you how to select your shutter speed (Tv), aperture (Av) or shutter speed AND aperture (M) etc.

Please read the Manual page by page to learn how to use all of your camera's functions. You also should have gotten a simple to follow, Pocket Guide for quick reference...
turn the top right dial to %26quot;Tv%26quot; or %26quot;Manual%26quot; mode then use the jog wheel on the right to move the value up or down.
Was your user manual written in a foreign language?
