I have no clue-i looked on the internet and everything but i still can't get my shutter speed to slow down. like i want a running shot of them here....then there....so yah if someone could help me that would be great.
How do you change the shutter speed on a nikon d40?
Hi,
It is a bit difficult to understand just what you mean by %26quot;here...then there%26quot;, but here goes: -
If you want to control the shutter or aperture, you need to use T for shutter control or A for aperture control mode. If you keep the mode set to P, or one of the so-called creative modes - with the little symbols - the camera does all the settings for you with little, or no control possible by you.
For the mode control dial see Page 4 of the manual
For T mode see Page 41
If you are wanting to take shots of people running and %26quot;freeze%26quot; them, you will need to use a fast shutter speed - 1/250th of a second. If you are talking about taking several shots of people in different places, on the same image - you cannot do that with this camera. You would need to merge a number of images on the computer later.
Cheers
