I have a Canon Stylus 720 and I have no idea how to change the shutter speed and aperature on it.
And I ont know what amount or how much I should allow for the shutter speed and aperature to create this effect
thank you for helping!
How can i change my shutter speed so that my photos are blurred and have light streaks or light waves in the?
As this particular camera is considered a point and shot I don't think you can change the shutter speed as the camera does this automatically depending on light. You can choose %26quot;night scene%26quot; in your scene mode and that may help. To get the images you want the shutter needs to be slowed down to at least a second to get the blur you are looking for. I just don't think this camera will do that.
Hope that helps.

Actually...this camera DOES have aperture and shutter priority modes. Canon have never made a Stylus camera. Epson make a Stylus printer, but Canon have never made a Stylus anything.
So, yours is most likely the Powershot A720 IS and luckily for you, it has manual control (aperture and shutter priority modes).
You set your shutter speed by turning the mode dial to Tv (Time Value, Shutter Priority) and you set you aperture by turning the dial to Av (Aperture Value, Aperture Priority).
Have a look in your User Guide to learn how to adjust the aperture (f-stop) and shutter speed once in either shooting mode. If you don't have it you can download it from this link http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro鈥?/a>
Your camera can do exposures of up to 15 seconds, so experiment a little and use a low ISO (80 or 100 at the most). A tripod and time delay is needed for longer night time exposures.
good luck...
